New year resolution

My first semester in college has almost passed. Compared to the beginning of my college life, I adapt myself well now. I gradually get used to the new life without my parents’ care and can handle my daily life appropriately. Most important of all, I am not so afraid of going to class and I hope I can develop much interest in the coming school life. In addition, in this year, I wish I can do well in time management increasing my work efficiency rather than wasting time so easily. I usually find that I will cost much time than others when we are doing the same thing and that I will use much time to finish my work. So, in the new semester, I would like to supervise myself to manage time more carefully, deal with things more efficiently, and concentrate on whatever I want to achieve.

learning obstacles

I think the most vicious obstacles we face is our learning circumstances. We always study for the test or make an effort on the assignment which the teacher asked us to hand in. Because of academic pressure, we will be more hateful of studying and think that learning is a painful process. We won’t enjoy the process that we make progress, because the things we want to achieve is to get high grades, not mature.
Instead of playing all the attention on school works, we should arrange our schedule with some interesting activities that we will enjoy them. It’s not only a way to relax but also an effective way for us to learn. The happier we feel when we are studying, the much effective reward we will get. Because we will have stronger will to keep learning instead of the reluctance and haste.
Independent learning is an important element when we are learning. Studying isn’t a process that we went to school and sit in the classroom, it is a long process that throughout our whole life.

Is google making us stupid?

I disagree with that question. Maybe we can’t sense the effect of information technology obviously, but we can’t deny the benefits we enjoyed from it. Without making an effort on information technology, we may still live in the original circumstances, we can’t catch up with the world immediately by reading News on-line, what’s more, we will still live in a long distance from foreign countries, not like today’s flat global village.
The fourth paragraph is the one I like most. It mentioned that” We are not what we read, but how we read.” I like this sentence passionately, because these days we usually use computers to surf the Internet, to watch others’ blogger, to chat with friends, or even to read novels on-line. There is a great amount of article and information on-line, and is full of various kinds of resources, so the way we choose what kind of information to absorb is an important thing for us to consider carefully.
What we will absorb depends on how we read. If the article is worth reading, then slow down the speed when we are reading it. In that way, we can digest the real meaning the author wanted to express except for the literal means we get.

Meteor shower

Last Thursday I had heard the news that there would be a meteor shower at night, and I was really excited to know this information. I decided to view this rare occasion with my own eyes, so I invited my friend to join my action. We rode a motorcycle to the site called "wang kao liao," where is part of the mountain and is less polluted by light so that we could see the beautiful sky more clearly. As we arrived there, there still had a lot of clouds in the sky. But as the time went by, the clouds had disappeared gradually, and the dark sky with uncountable stars had appeared progressively. We lay on the ground to find a good posture preparing for the coming meteor shower. The first meteor appeared just in a sudden when I was chatting with my friend. I felt a light shining cross the sky suddenly, so I turned my head towards the direction that the light appeared immediately. I couldn't describe how stunning it was when the star crossed the dark sky in words, and the only thing I did is shouting at that amazing moment. How lucky I was to see such a wonderful scene, of course, I caught this fortune and made a wish at that moment I saw the meteor. I had seen a meteor before in Lyudao, but this experience is really my first time to see so many meteors at one time. Although the meteors were not falling down like the rain falling which the movies always showed us, but I was still very happy to take part in this astronomical event. It is really a special experience.

Life of Pi

I went to theater last Friday afternoon to watch the movie, "Life of PI." It is a story about a boy survived 227 days from a shipwreck that in the Pacific Ocean with a tiger named Richard Parker. At the beginning of the movie when it was introducing Pi's childhood, I felt a little boring and almost fell asleep. But the following plot attracts me a lot, it shows how Pi deal with the days that he has to make himself much stronger, that he has to encourage himself not to give up his hope, and also that he has to make himself believe that he has the chance to survive.
In the end of the movie, Pi had told two totally different stories. I felt very confused, couldn't understand what is the story wants to tell us, and also couldn't bear which story is the real situation. Today, my classmate told me that the second story is true. I was stunning when I heard she said because the second that Pi told is too cruel to believe. And there are also a lot of symbolization mentioned in the novel, but in the movie, the director use distinct way to film to express to show. I decided to buy the novel to fully realize what the story is talking about so that I can figure out why the director use this kind of shots in the second time I watch it. I think it is a good story that worth me reading it deeper and I think I will love the story.

a new sight of college life

I can recall how painful I was at the beginning of college life, but it's totally different now. I have changed my attitude toward the college life that I already have. Instead of being hate of it, I try to appreciate it. Instead of rejecting it, I start to develop my interest in it. Instead of being upset about it, I begin working hard to do it well. I can't explain reason why my attitude change so magically, but everyone blesses me whoever has heard this. After chatting with my tutor, I think I will be more vigorous in learning. I hope I will find the thing that I really want to do. As the teacher tell me that college for her isn't a waste of time and money, it's a good place for us to think more about what we truly desire to pursue.

time management

I think the most important thing that we should learn in college is time management. Since we have been a college student, teacher will no more ask us to do what he or she want you to accomplish. We must be our own teacher to remind ourselves of the task we need to finish, to force ourselves to complete the things on time, and to supervise ourselves to do things in a correct way. It seems that the time we have is always not enough, so we need to learn how to manage our own time well. Remove the extra activities is the thing that I think I must do first as the beginning of a good time manager. Find a balance between entertainment and schoolwork is quite important too. I hope I can manage my time well and won't waste any time from now on.
